If you are looking for an affordable and practical paved area, then block paving is a great option, or you may want to consider the good old, heavy duty concrete council slab, even the dirty old things that have been there since the house was built can look amazing when cleaned up and properly laid.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend those nasty, cheap digestive biscuit style slabs, as they don’t weather well, and after a couple of years you will realise that those £2 each bargains will end up costing you more in the long run, as you have to pay out to have them replaced with something more hard wearing.

Standard 50mm block paviors look great when layed nicely.
